My favorite use of Mud Slabs has nothing to do with mud! After one of my orders I had a few slabs left over that just didn’t seem to fit for any paddock area. I had tossed them off to the side thinking I’d find a use for them with my next order. Boy was I wrong!
It turns out these Mud Slabs have a TON more uses outside of the paddock. I found myself grab for an extra slab when we had a heavy rain and my barn flooded. Not bad, just a stream of water through the center but my small barn fridge got it’s bottom wet. 1 slab was the perfect size to prop the fridge up so it wouldn’t get wet on the next storm.
The next use came when my horse trailer hitch sunk into the ground enough I couldn’t raise it to get it up and onto my truck. UGH! So I dug out another mat and placed it under the hitch wheel when parked. After seeing that little hack, a friend bought 5 slabs, propping up her trailer wheels and hitch on them. She had an issue with the wheels singing over the winter when not in use.
Another single slab was used under the hydrant. The area would always become mushy when buckets over flowed or a leak from a loose hose was connected. Now the drip area is covered and the holes in the mat make it easy for extra water to drain through.
The best use of all for a spare mat is for your travel emergency kit! I have used these Mud Slabs the place under wheels my truck wheels that have gotten stuck. Instant grip, and out of the snow or slick spot. Our delivery driver is thankful for them to and know right where I keep a few spares should he get his truck in a pickle come winter
